Dave's Towing Services hauled an auto body frame machine across Calgary on one of our flatbed trucks and delivered it to a body shop. A frame machine is the bench, rack and tower system a collision shop uses to measure and straighten a damaged vehicle's frame and unibody, so it's a key piece of equipment for any shop that does structural repair. It also arrives in long, awkward sections of steel rails and frame that don't fit in a pickup or a cargo van. Our rollback flatbed gave us a long, level deck to lay the sections flat, keep them stable, and avoid putting stress on the machined surfaces. Each piece was positioned to keep the load balanced over the truck's axles, then strapped down with ratchet straps across the deck so nothing could slide, bounce or shift on the drive through the city. At the shop, the deck was tilted down to make unloading easier and the sections were set off where the shop's crew wanted them.
